Addison “Add” Goff is a lifelong Ruston resident, longtime local attorney, and candidate for Ruston City Court Judge. With 33 years of legal experience, Add has built his career serving individuals and families across North Louisiana with professionalism, integrity, and a strong commitment to the rule of law.
A graduate of Ruston High School, Add earned his undergraduate degree from Louisiana Tech University and his Juris Doctor from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. For more than three decades, he has practiced law in North Louisiana and gained courtroom experience in a broad range of legal matters.
Throughout his career, Add has worked with people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Those experiences have shaped his belief that every person who enters a courtroom deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and fairness. He believes a judge should be prepared, hardworking, and committed to deciding each case carefully and according to the law.
Add has been especially active in serving seniors, veterans, and their families. His commitment to elder law grew from personal experience, after watching members of his own family face end-of-life issues, dementia, and long-term care placement. As a Veterans Administration Accredited Attorney, he has also assisted wartime veterans and their families. He has frequently spoken to civic, legal, and church organizations on topics including professionalism, estate planning, and elder law.
In addition to his legal practice, Add has served in several professional leadership roles. As a Hearing Committee Chair for the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board, he presided over evidentiary hearings involving formal ethics complaints against attorneys across a 20-parish region. He was also appointed twice to the Louisiana Public Defender Board, formerly the Louisiana Indigent Defense Assistance Board, serving from 1998 to 2006 and again from 2010 to 2015.
Add has also remained deeply involved in the Ruston community. He has served as president of the Ruston Kiwanis Club, Ruston Jaycees, and Christian Community Action, and he has served on the Board of Directors for Louisiana Med-Camps.
An Eagle Scout and longtime judo coach, Add is an avid hunter and fisherman. He and his wife, Shelley, are active members of Trinity Methodist Church.
Add is running for Ruston City Court Judge with a commitment to ensuring that the court is fair, efficient, respectful, and accessible to everyone who appears before it.
This campaign is about more than a position. It is about service. I am committed to strengthening trust in the legal system and ensuring that the courtroom remains a place where fairness and accountability come first.
